I emailled my My MP to say that I would not vote for him at the General Election as he did not attend the Digital Economy Bill debate last night. Not that he will be worrried, according to
Liberal Conspiracy » Why vote? No point for most voters he is in a safe seat, so I will be following their advice and spoiling my ballot paper. I urge anybody else in a safe seat to do the same.

I ave already written to my MP because he did not attend last night’s debate on the Digital Economy Bill and now I read that Tories drop opposition to UK.gov DNA plans • The Register – so much for principles.

I just hope we have some decent candidates on May 6th that I can believe in.

Simon Singh’s victory in the High Court in his appeal against the British Chiropractic Association is just the first step. As he says in Sense About Science | Message from Simon Singh we need to keep up the pressure on the politicians and political candidates to reform libel law to prevent this sort of travesty happening again.

How the hell do the tories expect to get elected?

First off let me say that I don’t support any political party, I vote for the person who will deliver the policies that I want.

We have a Tory MP, Mark Hoban, who seems like a nice enough bloke and supports causes like the campaign against mineral extraction at Brownwich and Chilling and other causes that I agree with.

However this latest stunt by three Tory MPs sabotaging the anti-poverty bill means he won’t get my vote unless David Cameron throws the book at the MPs in question

In defence of lawyers

Jack of Kent has an insightful piece defending lawyers over cases like Carter-Ruck and Trafigura. As he points out, the problem is not the lawyers it is their clients and the laws themselves.

It was not the Lawyers that granted the injunction, it was three judges sitting in a court who did.

New Met Police Guidance on Photography

The Metropolitan police have updated their guidance to Police officers on dealing with photographers. It will be interesting to see whether this curbs the excesses of the Met and other police forces.
